The Latino beats echoed in the limo as the remaining MCM players showed up to Hershey last night for the Championship Game. Poised and ready to rock and roll the Carworx Crew took the pitch with one common goal, and that was to be champions. The first whistle went and the battle began with MCM controlling the pitch. At the 20 minute mark the deadlock was broken as Behn "Razor blades in the eyes" Wurthman connected on a give and go with Ray " the MONSTER" Wark that saw Wark finish the ball into the bottom corner of the Pompey goal. Multiple attempts began to rain in on the Pompey keeper with the likes of Phil " the man in the middle" Ionadi all but breaking the cross bar with long range attempts. Just before the half two key plays occurred that gave the edge to the baby blue squad. First Ruben " 3 goals in 3 finals" Flores blasted home a ball on the end of a scramble in the box to make it 2-0 MCM. Then Drew " the human wrecking ball" Patient laid a bone crushing tackle on the Pompey midfielder number 14 who was wreaking havoc tackle after tackle. At the top of the MCM box Patient laid a well timed tackle that left the Pompey player flat on the pitch and nearly out cold. He would then leave the match but under his own power and would be ok later. At the half the support remained as 20 players a Police officer and one little boy were all there with positive energy to recharge the troops.
Into the match was Al " I am taking Thursday off" Vukcevic who came in to stabilize the back 4. The game pushed on as Greg " got my club clothes with me" Marshal was called upon to make a few key stops to keep the enemy at bay. With about 20 minutes remaining in the game Peter " king of the English long ball" Ranells struck a perfect ball just behind the Pompey defender where a hungry Chris " the finisher" Burton was waiting to break in on goal. With two touches he beat the defender then the keeper and now it was 3-0 MCM. Soon after this the reinforcements began to flood the pitch as Sid " I can't get warm" Dasilva, Joe " yep I got kicked out of the bar before even going inside" Giglio, Jim " Milton man " Heffron stormed on to the pitch. Soon to be joined by Jason " the bulldozer" Watts and Mario " What the F___k is that thing on your head after the game" Ruiz.
Man of the match on this night was Matt " there is nothing like winning" Braithwaite who played a fantastic game while injured. There could only be one buzzard tonight and that would be Rob " I need a new job " Rusnov who was unable to make the game.
A few quotes I remember from last night.
"Oh no, it's all my fault" Delaney as he realized he screwed up the limo booking for Natalie Billota's Enrique concert... ( worked out fine after all)
"Gail was gonna give you a slow dance on Saturday too" Matty B to Joe Giglio as Joe is leaning against the wall in a drunken mess.
Apparently Gail likes guys who can hold their booze and now her dance card is free....
"Talia, you’re not allowed to laugh at me" Ruben to Joey Bilotta's daughter Talia as she laughs at all of us while we sing Campeones
"Can't we lock that kid up in the back of the police car for a while" the entire MCM bench to officer Chaloupka requesting that little Jack S. have a little time out.
"Sing it in Serbian so the world will understand" Big Al to all of us as we butcher the song in the Limo
"Delaney you got to go help Joe, the bouncer won’t let him in" Sid to Delaney upon realizing that Joe won’t be allowed into the bar.
"Joe, the man asked you to leave and finish your beer and you chug it right in his face and put it on the table, now say you’re sorry and lets go celebrate" Delaney to Joe Giglio in front of the bouncer so that he will let Joe in.
"We in the bizzness of Winning and Bizzness is good" Delaney via email to everyone.
"3 in a row, 3 in a row, 3 in a row" Dave Purgavie on the mic at the bar after receiving the trophy
Boyz, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you for making each and every Thursday this summer something special for me. Last night was the icing on the cake and I will be smiling for quite some time!!!
