MCMII vs. Brampton
Game Result: MCMII 1 vs. Brampton 1
This week’s game started slowly with both MCM2 and Brampton having an equal share of the ball, most of the play was held up in the middle of the park and few chances came from either side until the 30 minute, where John Steward ran through the Brampton midfield and unleashed a low shot which was well saved from the Brampton keeper. Five minutes later saw a free kick given for a foul near the Brampton corner flag, MCM2 pushed their tall players forward waiting for the free kick to come in, instead Kafu produced a fantastic in swinger which went straight into the top corner from the most acute angle. MCM2 were one nothing up at the half..
The second half started with MCM controlling the play and plenty of chances created but to no avail as Chris Francis, Campbell Shaw, Bred Jenkins, Miguel Almeda and Andy Davis all had a go at the Brampton goal but could not convert. With 15 minutes left to play some lax midfield work saw a Brampton player shot from 40 yards out which caught Greg Marshall un-sighted and the game was tied. Probably a fair result in the end but another 2 points dropped from MCM2 in their bid to win the league. Everything comes down to how SMT finish the season off now..
MCMIII vs. Bronte United
Game Result : MCMIII 0 vs. Bronte United 2
MCM III came out controlling the game from the opening minute with increased intensity into the second half. But it was not meant to be on this day as we struggled the find the target. Bronte scored at the 30 minute mark on an excellent counter and then again in the 88th minute when MCM formation was clearly pressing for the equalizer. With Good Guys losing MCM will still keep pace.
MCM Carworx vs. B&K
Game Result: MCM Carworx 3 vs. B&K 1
Coming off their first loss of the season the Carworx crew were in need of a decision versus the pesky B&K side. The banana striped squad drew first blood halfway through the first half with a lucky goal. After a key sub, the baby blue had numerous chances to draw even. A few near misses by Joey " Party like it's my birthday" Bilotta gave the fans a sneak peak of what was yet to come. Late in the first half the Cat Burglar was called into action and as usual he was none other than fantastic stopping a penalty kick from the B&K striker.
At the half the troops rallied as each man knew that his work had been cut out. About 12 minutes into the first half the seas parted and gods said let there be light as Phil " watch me show off in front of my mate " Kennedy let go a heat seeking strike from the top of the box that found the back of the opposition's net. This giving PK his best goal of the season. Moments later after requesting a sub, the weary Bilotta found himself on the end of a fantastic pass which he placed ever so neatly in the back of the B&K goal. Minutes later the final nail was hammered as AL " I can't wait till JB's next birthday " Vukcevic got on the end of a cross from Sid " Lady Bug slippers" Dasilva which the big Serb bounced home off his cranium. That would be all she wrote as MCM got back on winning track.
With a 12am call from Rob " The thread " Rusnov the last men standing were off to the "Crotch and Pheasant" with Four Coaches...... er ummm...... or was it the Coach and Four where there were many Crotch Pheasants ?????? Right, the trio of remaining MCM'rs shared celebration beverages as two members were about to end their spring break. The clock struck one and the YUM YUM begin as then night ended at the Suvlaki hut with all three players feasting on B&K like caucus!!!
Man of the match would have been PK, however seeing as he left....
Man of the Match Alex Vukcevic (Slum Dog status)
Buzzard of the mach somehow went to Behn, but should have went to Jimmy but in the end went to Coach Bilotta for leaving half of his beer at the end of the night. ( note after his 61st birthday, the fact that he made the game at all is nothing short of a miracle).
Next week new pitch West Oak Trails under the lights!!!
