MCMI vs. Georgetown

Game Result: MCMI 3 vs. Georgetown 1
The Rogers cable TV trucks were lurking and many were wondering if MCM 1 were up to the task vs Georgetown this past Sunday. With MCM missing their usual bench boss and with only a few points separating both sides in the table, the battle would prove to be a good test for both teams. About 14 minutes in, Georgetown struck first on a cross played to the back post where a man left unmarked placed the ball to the back of the MCM goal. This early strike would only awaken the dragons as minutes later Ruben " Final 4" Flores hit a 25 yard cross where Chris " T Unit " Burton calmly notched a header past the Georgetown keeper. Just before half Drew " no this is not a hickey on my neck" Patient won a ball at the back and laid it off to Jon " watch this fake left, then this to the right, then back left" Morgan who played it to the feet of Burton who netted his second of the contest. Captain Morgan was seen hopping back to half on one leg in a pirate stance after the goal.
The second half saw Georgetown with most of the play in the MCM end due to a strong wind, not just the wind from the mouths or backsides of the MCM bench but from the football gods who threatened to bring the rain as well.  A bright light came when Nesa " I'll wear a jersey just a little different from everyone else" Stefanovic scored with a powerful strike on the ground past the Georgetown keeper to make the score 3-1. Strong play at the back by MCM's keeper Mike " I am taking up Golf" Pesic and the MCM defense kept the opposition away. An honourable mention for the first career slide tackle of defender Steve " My first slide tackle with ears still attached " Delaney to deny a cross late in the game was an example of the intensity of the MCM backs for the entire match. The missing Manager Peter " Fine Wine" Ranells will no doubt be happy with the result in his absence.

MCMII vs. Lakeshore Wanderers

Game Result: MCMII 5 vs. Lakeshore Wanderers 0
MCM2 moved to the top of division 2 in style with a comfortable victory over Lakeshore Wanderers.
MCM took early control of this game, going one up after 10 minutes through Sean Cahill, Brad Jenkins then added a second 5 minutes later and MCM never looked back. A fantastic strike from Kafu saw MCM end the first half at 3-0.
The second half was much the same story with MCM in total control of the game, 2 more goals finished off a very impressive performance from the Oakville side

MCMIII vs. Good Guys

Game Result : MCM III 2 vs. Good Guys 1
In our biggest game of the season to date MCM III came out fully staffed against first place Good Guys FC.
Early and often runs by Jim Heffron created solid opportunities and some missed opportunities took a confident squad into the break tied. Sal Borgh came on in the second half and produced immediate results with a goal mouth pass converted by Mike Ward. Shortly thereafter Good Guys replied with a freakish ping pong play inside the MCM 6 yard box that found the twine. At the 75th minute mark a rush by Gianni Piccolo with a brilliant pass and finish by Anthony Giglio
MCM controlled the play through the entire 90 minutes, and a stellar defensive effort.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Mike Borelli
Hourable Mention: Carl Huntsman and Mike Bardouille!

MCM Carworx vs. Interpole (Jul 29th)

Game Result: MCM Carworx 2 Interpole 0
In effort to build a bit of team unity The Baby Blue decided to spice things up a bit. With no goalie present, the executive decided to pick up a net minder on waivers from the Peel Police squad. Between the pipes for Carworx would be none other than MIKE " F___ck the police" Chaloupka. The 6-7 giant had a clean sheet and left the INTERPOL squad with very little space to shoot at. Crosses from the Polish side we useless as the former team Canada volleyball player picked the ball from the clouds time and time again. Even with a PK awarded the Polish were to afraid to hit the target in fear of being arrested or worse yet fed to the blood and beer thirsty keeper!!
First up to the Salad bowl was none other than John " I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my Bike " Sickling. The crowd belted out in laughter as he drew the position he always plays, right back. John did get a bit of time up top for Carworx towards the end of the game. After all the positions were handed out, we had the likes of Bilotta and Dasilva in the center mid and the Serbian Sniper at left back. Cozmone and Drew Patient starting off at the striker position with Peter "Fine wine" Ranells at center back.
At about the 30 min mark a key sub was made. On to the pitch jogged the knocked up Steve " clown shoes" Delaney.... At the 35 minute mark Delaney was able to get on a Cross from Jessie " the purple buzzard collector" Geisel. The 6-3 Delaney smartly played the ball off his head 30 feet in the air where nobody else could reach it. With the defense and the Polish keeper moving the wrong direction, Delaney got on the end of his self pass and calmly place a 4mph tap in to the back of the net!
In the second half the battle was still going strong, but at the 63rd minute mark Carworx was awarded a free kick in the polish end. With Bilotta and Kennedy hovering around the ball, "Capello" inched is way in to the mix. The call was made from the side line to let the most experienced player take a crack. The whistle blew and then the Kilingons were picking the ball from the back of the net after the left footed strike. ( Note I have seen Peter take 3 free kicks in my days on Thursday and he has scored every time.
Man of the match Peter " Fine wine" Ranells what a great strike
Buzzard of the Match, Yes Jessie AGAIN!!!!! for tackling himself on a breakaway.
Salad Bowl night a success!!

MCM Carworx vs. SMT (Aug 5th)

Game Result: MCM Carworx 7 SMT 0
Looking to improve on their untarnished record this past Thursday MCM CARWORX took the pitch with their usual swagger. With the SMT opposition arriving at the pitch only seconds before kickoff, the writing seemed to be on the wall. An early ping pong ball stuck by Ruben " tequila at midnight" Flores found the back of SMTs net after clipping a defender. Then the Lions roared and the floodgates opened, the usual suspects hit the score sheet with a few new additions. Jason " I haven't scored a goal in about 20 years in outdoor soccer" Watts scored on a cross from Nesha " you will get b*&!ch slapped" Stefanovic who also had three finishes of his own. More offense fired as Sid "Lick My Oakleys" Dasilva and Drew "Don't make me angry or I will go UFC on you" Patient  pelted the net minder from SMT with 1 bulge of the oppositions twine each. At the end of the game tempers flared but cool heads prevailed and the only injury was to SMTs pride as their cry baby ways led to the early final whistle. After all the male ground hugging the referee had seen enough and ended the game.
This 7-0 romp by MCM CARWORX over SMT marks a few firsts in MCM Thursday football history
